How to Print
The print capability in OneTouch® works very much like the copy capability: there are "pre-sets" available that enable you to easily print a specific portion of text, or you can simply use the mouse cursor to select ("block") the desired content. Either way, the print button (located on the Main Toolbar) will send the selected content on its way to your printer.
"Pre-Set" Print Ranges
A "pre-set" is simply an automatically selected portion of any reference work. Two common examples are the current page and the current article. In all, there are six print pre-sets. You can select any one of these for the current print action via the Print Dialog (select File from the OneTouch® main menu, then select Print…). The Print Dialog also lets you set any one of the six pre-sets as the default pre-set. The default pre-set will be used each time you select the print action, unless you select File | Print… and indicate a different preference. Naturally, you can access the Print Dialog (File | Print…) and override or change the default at any time.
The six print pre-sets are as follows:
Selection —prints the currently selected portion of content. You select a portion of content by moving the mouse cursor to the beginning of the desired content, clicking and holding the left mouse button, then dragging the mouse cursor to the end of the desired selection.
Page —prints the current page.
Article —prints the current article (or chapter, in a Bible or commentary) in its entirety.
Note: There are a few reference works (published by Biblesoft® and other publishing partners) that contain fill-in-the-blank question-and-answer fields; in other words, a question embedded in the content followed by an empty field that you can open and edit to record a free-form answer. The following three options provide special print capabilities in those question-and-answer types of reference works only.
Answers Only —prints only the answers that have been entered in the current question-and-answer type of reference work. One use for this capability is to submit the answers to a teacher, professor, or Bible study leader.
Questions Only —prints only the questions in the current question-and-answer type of reference work. One use for this capability is to create a "fill-in-the-blanks" form for sermon notes or for Bible study participants.
Questions and Answers —prints both the questions and answers (but only the questions and answers) in the current question-and-answer type reference work. One use for this capability is to create an "answer sheet" for the instructor and/or students in a Bible study or class.
"Block" Print Ranges
A "block" is a portion of content that you have selected using the mouse. You select a portion of content by moving the mouse cursor to the beginning of the desired content, clicking and holding the left mouse button, then dragging the mouse cursor to the end of the desired selection. Having selected a portion of content you can then print it or copy it (to the Clipboard) by pressing the print or copy button on the Main Toolbar of OneTouch®.
Note: Clicking the Print button (on the Main Toolbar) use the default print pre-set (as detailed above) So, "blocked" or "selected" content will only print if Selection is the default print pre-set or if you access the Print Dialog (File | Print…), select Selection and then select Print.
