Bible Window
The Bible window lets you display up to 8 views of the Bible--side by side. Each separate view is called a 'Bible pane.' These panes can be used to display different versions of the same verse ("linked") or different verses ("unlinked"). When the panes are unlinked they can also be set to scroll together ("simultaneous") or separately ("independent").
Only one pane (or view) has the "focus" at a time. All actions are always applied to the focused pane first. The following table shows how some actions may also effect the other panes, depending on whether the panes are Linked or Unlinked, and if Unlinked whether they are set to page Simultaneously or Independently:
Action | Linked | Unlinked/Simultaneous | Unlinked/Independent |
New Bible reference | All panes | Focused pane only | Focused pane only |
Page up/down | All panes | All panes | Focused pane only |
Next/previous version | Focused pane only | Focused pane only | Focused pane only |
Copy | Focused pane only | Focused pane only | Focused pane only |
The title bar of the focused pane is brightly colored, while the title bar of all other panes is a dull gray. Click anywhere in a pane to move the focus to that pane.
In addition to the Bible panes, a Bible window can also display a Bible Note pane. In the case of a multipane Bible display, the Bible Note pane will display the Bible notes for the current verse in the currently focused pane.
