How do I download and then access a file from your website?

All files that can be downloaded at Biblesoft start the same way; by clicking on the file name or for the link for the download. For further help with accessing titles you have just purchased click here. Getting passed that can vary from browser to browser. For a complete set of instructions on how to do this, click in the icon below for the browser you will be accessing the downloads with

You should be aware that many of the browsers below give you the option to either Open or Save the file. If you click on Open, then you can skips these steps and go directly to installing the file; which can depend on what you are installing.

If you have changed your download settings in your browser, then some of these steps may differ. These instructions are for the default setting in these browsers.

You may also be interested to know that the keyboard shortcut for getting to Downloads in the browser are as followed:

  • Ctrl + J - Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Opera
  • Ctrl + Alt + L - Safari

Internet Explorer

  1. Click the file you want to download.
  2. A message will appear on the bottom of the browser, asking you to Open or Save the file.
  3. Once the download has finished, a similar message will appear giving you the option to:
    • Open
    • Open Folder
    • View Downloads
  4. Click on Open to start the installation.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click the file you want to download.
  2. A message will appear asking you to Open or Save the file.
  3. The file will download and a window will come up to show you the progress of it.
    Note - If this window doesn't come up, then you can use the keyboard shortcut above or click the download icon, , located in the upper right corner.
  4. Double click on the file to open it and continue with the installation.

Google Chrome

  1. Click the file you want to download.
  2. The download will appear on the bottom of the browser.
  3. Once it is done, double click on the file to open it and continue with the installation.

Safari

  1. Click the file you want to download.
  2. A message will appear asking you to Open or Save the file.
  3. The file will download and a window will come up to show you the progress of it.
  4. Double click on the file to open it and continue with the installation.

Opera

  1. Click the file you want to download.
  2. A message will appear asking you to Open or Save the file.
  3. When you select Save, you will be asked to put the file in a specific place.
  4. To open the file, go to where it was saved, use the keyboard shortcut to open the Downloads or click the Downloads button, , on the left side of the browser to open the downloads window.
  5. Double click on the file to open it and continue with the installation.
