User Testimonials

"Just a word to praise your efforts on the new version 5.

It is a tremendous improvement over previous versions, especially in regard to language use.

I have three other bible software programs which I use, yours is head and shoulders above the others.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!"

When installing the program, an error about a file being "size zero" appears.

This error is resulting from a file being transferred incorrectly. Do not attempt to open PC Study Bible.

Section I. If the program files are all intact, only the damaged file(s) needs to be replaced.
1. Open Windows Explorer.  Choose START, PROGRAMS, WINDOWS EXPLORER.
2. In the left window, open the Program Files folder. This can be done by clicking the "+" plus sign, or by double-clicking on the folder.
3. In the left window, open Biblesoft.
4. Still in the left window, now open PC Study Bible 3.0.
5. Single-click to highlight the RefWorks folder.
6. From the top tool bar, choose VIEW, and make sure DETAILS is selected.
7. From the top tool bar, choose VIEW, then ARRANGE ICONS, and click BY SIZE.
8. In the right window, find and delete any file with size zero.  You will also want to delete any other file with the same (except the extension) name as the deleted file. (For example:  If Wycliffe.JIX is zero length, delete it, and also delete Wycliffe.jsr.)
9. Click the "X" box in the upper right-hand corner window to close Windows Explorer.
10.  Attempt to open the program.  If an error occurs, jump down to Section II.
11.  If the program opens successfully, the error has been corrected.  We must load the missing files to your Hard Drive now.  Close PC Study Bible.
12.  If the PC Study Bible Version 3 CD is not in your CD-ROM Drive, place it there now. While inserting it, hold the SHIFT key down. Hold the SHIFT key down for 20 seconds after you close the drive door.  This should stop AutoPlay from activating.  If the program or installation routine starts, CLOSE it immediately.
13.  Open Windows Explorer again.
14.  In the left window, open the Program Files folder.  This can be done by clicking the "+" plus sign, or by double-clicking on the folder.
15.  In the left window, open Biblesoft.
16.  Still in the left window, now open PC Study Bible 3.0.
17.  Single-click to highlight the RefWorks folder.
18.  After displaying this folder, find the icon in the left pane that represents your CD ROM Drive.
19.  Click the "+" next to your CD-ROM Drive icon.
20.  In the left pane, single-click on the folder titled RefWorks.
21.  From the top tool bar, choose EDIT and SELECT ALL.
22.  Now choose EDIT and COPY.
23.  In the left window, find the RefWorks folder back on your HardDrive.  This is the one we found earlier, in Step 17.
24.  From the top tool bar, choose EDIT and PASTE. If asked to overwrite or replace an existing file, answer NO.  You may be required to do this quite a few times.

*** If you receive a message that states, "The Source and Destination filenames are the same", you did not click on the appropriate RefWorks folder. Follow these instructions again from Step 17. ***

25.  When this copy function is complete choose EDIT from the top tool bar, and click SELECT ALL.
26.  Hold down the ALT key and press the ENTER key at the same time. A Properties window will appear.
27.  Near the bottom right there will be a Read Only checkbox. This box should not be grayed out, and there should not be a check in it. Click on this box as many times as necessary until the box is clear (not checked).
28.  Click OK on the Properties window.  You do not need to click Apply.
29.  You may now exit Windows Explorer.
30.  Remove the PC Study Bible CD from your CD-ROM Drive.

The program should now be completely loaded and ready to go. You can skip the Section II procedure listed below.

Section II. If there is still an error when attempting to open the program, you may have to try the following:
1. Remove the program using Windows "Add/Remove Programs".  Choose START, move up to SETTINGS, then select CONTROL PANEL.
2. Double-click "Add/Remove Programs" to uninstall PC Study Bible 3
3. Select this option in the main window, then click the Add/Remove button. Not all elements of the program must be deleted this way.  If there is no entry for Version 3.0 of PC Study Bible, continue with these instructions.
4. Close the Add/Remove Programs window, and exit the Control Panel.
5. Open Windows Explorer.
6. In the right window, highlight the folder Program Files.
7. In the left window, single-click Biblesoft.
8. Press the Delete key on your key board.  Answer "Yes To All" or "Yes" when prompted.
9. Close Windows Explorer.
10.  Choose START, and select RUN...
11.  Type "regedit" in the Open line.
12.  Press OK.
13.  Do NOTHING in this window except for what is prescribed here.
14.  Click the "+" (plus) next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
15.  Click the "+" next to Software.
16.  Right-click the folder titled Biblesoft.  Verify that you have the proper folder selected.

18.  Exit the Registry.
19.  Shut down your computer completely. Choose START and SHUT DOWN.
20.  Make sure "Shut down the computer?" is selected, and click YES.
21.  Let it sit off for at least 30 seconds.
22.  Restart your computer and Windows.
23.  Hold down the CTRL, ALT and DELETE keys at one time.  This will bring up the Close Program Task List.
24.  Close any unnecessarily running applications. Usually EXPLORER and SYSTRAY are the only items you shouldn't close.  Close all others unless it will prevent your system from functioning properly. You will have to end each "task" individually. This sometimes requires pressing the END TASK button if a second dialog box appears. Use the CTRL-ALT-DELETE function to bring up the task list again to close other programs.
25.  Once you have a clear environment, place the CD into the appropriate drive. (Do not install the CD using AutoPlay. If this enables, choose Cancel Setup.)
26.  Run the file SETUP.EXE from your drive. This is usually done by Clicking START and RUN... Type   X:\Setup.exe   on the command line.  (Substitute the appropriate drive letter designation if "X" is not the drive.)
27.  Follow the instructions that appear on your screen.
28.  Regardless of the errors that may surface, attempt to finish installing the program.  When finished, do NOT remove the CD from your CD-ROM Drive.
29.  Open Windows Explorer again.
30.  In the left window, open the Program Files folder.  This can be done by clicking the "+" plus sign, or by double-clicking on the folder.
