User Testimonials

"Just a word to praise your efforts on the new version 5.

It is a tremendous improvement over previous versions, especially in regard to language use.

I have three other bible software programs which I use, yours is head and shoulders above the others.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!"

If the Hebrew is missing from your Interlinear Bible....

  1. Open PC Study Bible
  2. Click on Greek/Hebrew > By Verse > Interlinear Bible
  3. The “Verse Reference” dialog opens
  4. Enter “Gen 1:1” and click OK.
  5. The Interlinear opens to Gen 1:1.  Note that the Hebrew is missing.
  6. In the menu at the very top of the screen, to the right of Help, click on Interlinear Pane > Options ....
  7. The “Interlinear Display Options” dialog opens
  8. In the Available column (left-hand column), click on “Hebrew Text (BHS)” to highlight it.
  9. Click the top button (an arrow pointing to the right) between the two columns
  10. “Hebrew Text (BHS)” moves to the Selected column (right-hand column)
  11. Click the “Save as New Preferences” button
  12. Click OK.
  13. You return to the Interlinear screen, and now Hebrew is visible again, as the bottom line of the Interlinear.

Release Notes for the CD/DVD Complete Reference Library - Version 5 Upgrade

  • This upgrade was released two ways:
  • As two CDs:
  • As one DVD:
  • Useful Things To Know ...
(A number of these items are bugs which will be fixed in future releases.  We apologize for the inconvenience.  When the bugs are fixed, we will add instructions here for how you can obtain the fix.)

  • This release will update your PC Study Bible to version 5.0.
  • This release must be installed over version 3 or version 4 of  PC Study Bible.  In other words, PC Study Bible version 3 or 4 must be installed before installing this release.  This means that your version 5 will actually install into a folder on your hard drive called "PC Study Bible 4" or "PC Study Bible 3.0".
  • How do I set my preferred (default) Bible translation?  Click on Options > Setup Helper.
  • Before clicking on Help > Help, open a Bible or other reference work first.  If you launch PC Study Bible, then go directly to Help, nothing happens.
  • This release shipped with version 4 tutorials (see Help > Tutorials), but they are still useful in learning version 5.
  • When you uninstall PC Study Bible, the PC Study Bible 5 icon remains on your desktop.  Just right-click on it and Delete it.  Likewise, the PC Study Bible 5 group remains in the menu under Start > Programs.  Again, just right-click on that group and Delete it.  The rest of PC Study Bible was removed by the install.
  • The uninstall text mentions version 3 and version 4 but it also works on version 5.
  • Your version 5 includes The Message: The Bible in Contemporary Language.  This Bible text shows chapter numbers but does not have verse numbers in the text.  (In version 4 it did.)
  • Am I missing reference works?
No, the material has just moved:
  • Books > General Books > Works of John Calvin > On the Christian Life has been removed from the menu, but still exists as Chapters 6-10 of Book Three in Books > General Books > Works of John Calvin > Institutes of the Christian Religion.
  • Books > General Books > Works of John Calvin > Of Prayer has been removed from the menu, but still exists as Chapter 20 of Book Three in Books > General Books > Works of John Calvin > Institutes of the Christian Religion.
  • When you install over a system having the MacArthur New Testament commentary, its name in the Commentary menu changes from “MacArthur NT Commentary” to “Commentary”. {E0062}
  • The Setup Helper (Options > Setup Helper) says "v4", but it still works for Version 5.
  • When you import or insert scripture using the "copy macros" into Microsoft Word, you will see double verse numbers {E0063}:
    Isaiah 55:1-5
1 55 "Come, all you who are thirsty,
    come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
    come, buy and eat!
    Come, buy wine and milk
    without money and without cost.
2 2 Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.
    3 3 Give ear and come to me;
hear me, that your soul may live.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
my faithful love promised to David.
4 4 See, I have made him a witness to the peoples,
a leader and commander of the peoples.
5 5 Surely you will summon nations you know not,
and nations that do not know you will hasten to you,
because of the Lord your God,
  • Devotional Options
There is no way to change the text size of the devotional that displays when PC Study Bible is opened.  Likewise, there is no way to set a different devotional as your default, e.g. Our Daily Bread, or any of the Through The Year devotionals.
  • Strong's Greek/Hebrew Dictionary by Verse has been removed.  This vertical format has been replaced by the horizontal format of the Interlinear Bible (click on Greek/Hebrew > By Verse > Interlinear Bible), or, if you have a Bible or Commentary open already, you can click on the QuickLinks button at the bottom of the screen, then click Interlinear Bible.
  • The Save/Restore Desktop feature does not work properly.
