These lower, or local icons, while appearing similar, perform distinct operations. Local icons in PC Study Bible can be grouped into two classes: Smart-References™ and Cross References.
1. The icons with an arrow just before the letter are Smart-References ™. They appear first on the Local Icon bar, and are an easy-to-use, yet extremely powerful tool. If you choose this option, the program will go to the module you've selected and find all of the relevant information for whatever verse, topic, or definition you are currently viewing. This will be displayed in a list. Click any option to open it.
2. The following lower icons are Cross Reference commands. If you are viewing a verse, definition, or topic, and want additional information that is listed under that same topic heading, verse, or word, choose one of these icons. For example, if you are reading Matthew 6:33, and you are curious what Matthew Henry wrote on this verse, click the Commentary Icon (this icon resembles a row of books). You will now be taken to Matthew Henry's Commentary for this specific verse: Matthew 6:33.
