User Testimonials

"Just a word to praise your efforts on the new version 5.

It is a tremendous improvement over previous versions, especially in regard to language use.

I have three other bible software programs which I use, yours is head and shoulders above the others.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!"

Can I upgrade my Bible Wisdom to a larger PC Study Bible library?

  • Yes, certainly.

  • However, on Windows 98, during the install of the larger library (4.2B) over your Bible Wisdom program, the actual PC Study Bible program may start, then freeze on your screen.  If that happens, open the Task Manager and choose to End Task on the task called “PC Study Bible”.  Do *not* end the task that mentions “PC Study Bible” *and* “Reference Library”.  The install will then complete normally.  Take the CD out and PC Study Bible should start up just fine.

  • However, on Windows XP, during the install of the larger library (4.2B) over your Bible Wisdom program, the actual PC Study Bible program may start.  If that happens, just close PC Study Bible and the install will then complete normally.  Take the CD out and PC Study Bible should start up just fine.

  • After installing a larger PC Study Bible library, you will see shortcuts (icons) on your desktop for both Bible Wisdom and PC Study Bible.  Going forward, your life will be simpler if you remove the Bible Wisdom shortcuts.  Just use the following steps:
    1. On your desktop, right-click on the icon for Bible Wisdom

    2. Left-click on Delete

    3. Choose to delete the shortcut

    4. Left-click on Start

    5. Left-click on Programs (or All Programs)

    6. Right-click on Bible Wisdom

    7. Left-click on Delete

    8. If you are warned that this will affect all users, Left-click Yes.

    Tutorials

  • Your Bible Wisdom CD comes with a full set of tutorials.

  • If you choose Yes during the install, *all* the tutorials are installed to your computer.

  • If you choose No during the install, tutorials for just a few topics are installed and the rest of the topics give you instructions for how to download that topic’s tutorial from Biblesoft’s website.  Or, of course, you can close PC Study Bible, put the Bible Wisdom CD in again, click Install/Refresh this Product, and this time, choose Yes to install the tutorials, and you’ll have them all.  Note that you cannot pick which tutorials to install; Yes gets them all, and No gets a few.

  • You may open Tutorials either from Help > Tutorials in the main menu, or by clicking on the Tutorials shortcut, in the vertical column of shortcuts (Open a Bible, etc.) on the PC Study Bible desktop.
  • Which version of the New Living Translation is installed?

  • Your Bible Wisdom CD contains the New Living Translation, Second Edition.
  • How do I register my Bible Wisdom program?
There are three ways to register:

  • During the install, you can choose to Register and you will be taken to the correct web page.

  • Click on Start > Programs > Bible Wisdom > Online Product Registration

  • Start up PC Study Bible using your Bible Wisdom shortcut on the desktop or in the Start menu.  When PC Study Bible is open, click on the words Bible Wisdom on the main screen, and you will see an option to register your product.
  • Am I missing something?  For example, the Help and the Tutorials mention reference work titles or features that I don’t have...

  • No, you’re not missing anything.

  • For example, you may see New International Version, or Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, or GRAMCORD parsing.  These are *not* included in Bible Wisdom.

  • As you saw during the install, your Bible Wisdom is “powered” by PC Study Bible.  PC Study Bible is a very flexible program with many possible Bible translations and reference works.  Your Bible Wisdom CD contains a sampler, or starter set, of these Bible resources.  Because the Help files and the Tutorials are written to cover all possible PC Study Bible installations, they may mention features and resources not included on your Bible Wisdom CD.  Of course, you can buy these additional resources from Biblesoft and add them to your program.

  • When you open PC Study Bible, and click on Open or Switch Reference Works in the What’s New section, you’ll see a picture of part of the PC Study Bible screen.  In this picture, just below the Concordance button is a button with a picture of an anchor.  This is a picture of a slightly older version of PC Study Bible.  You should not have an anchor button in your Bible Wisdom version of PC Study Bible.  Likewise, this picture shows names of Bible translations *not* included in Bible Wisdom (see note above).

  • When you click on Books > Appendices > Abbreviations, you see the standard Abbreviations document for PC Study Bible.  This document mentions six reference works (e.g. Vine’s Expository Dictionary) that are *not* included in Bible Wisdom.
  • How do I obtain the Bible Wisdom program?

  • Visit any of the following stores: Costco, Sam’s Club, Best Buy, .....

  • Unfortunately, Bible Wisdom is not for sale from Biblesoft directly.  However, if you have a Bible Wisdom CD which seems to be defective, contact Biblesoft Customer Service at 206-824-8360, and they will send you a replacement CD.

  • Bible Wisdom is *not* available as an internet download.
  • Known Problems

  • On Windows XP, if you click on Options > Reorganize existing material..., the Organize Reference Works screen will *not* open and PC Study Bible will freeze.  Use Ctl-Alt-Del to "end task" on PC Study Bible.  The most common use of Options > Reorganize existing material... is to restore your reference works to their factory order and names.  You can also do that this way: close PC Study Bible.  Click on Start > Programs > Bible Wisdom > Reset to Factory Defaults.  This will reset PC Study Bible to the way it was when you first installed it.

  • Interlinear Bible – After using Reset to Factory Defaults, if you start PC Study Bible, then click on Greek/Hebrew > By Verse, you will see several options that weren’t there before:  “Interlinear Bible” and “Interlinear Bible – New Testament”.  You can ignore these options.  The Interlinear Bible is really intended for larger PC Study Bible libraries.  In your Bible Wisdom program, these Interlinear options don’t show you anything new -  you see exactly the same English word and Strong’s numbers as in Greek/Hebrew > By Verse > Strong’s Greek/Hebrew Dictionary (by verse).

  • Help says 4.2F – this is a typo.   If you click on Help > Help, the resulting window says “PC Study Bible, Version 4.2f” at the top.  This is, in fact, the correct Help file for your Bible Wisdom, which is version 4.2G of PC Study Bible.
  • The id number of this entry is 236.
