User Testimonials

"Just a word to praise your efforts on the new version 5.

It is a tremendous improvement over previous versions, especially in regard to language use.

I have three other bible software programs which I use, yours is head and shoulders above the others.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!"

Budget Counselor Training Course - Textbook Resources CD

This CD was not created by Biblesoft but it contains a product (The WORD on Finances) which includes Biblesoft software.

As originally distributed by Biblesoft, The WORD on Finances CD contained video information by Larry Burkett as well as other help screens which help in the use of the material. The solutions below, because they are limited by what is on the Textbook Resources CD, do not deliver this video or help information.

Using the instructions provided on the CD, you can install The WORD on Finances.  However, as installed, there is no way to run the resulting program: there is no shortcut on the desktop and the Start > Programs > PC Study Bible 3.0 > The Word on Finance (sic) shortcut does not work.

How you fix this problem depends on what version of Windows you have.

Solution 1 - How to make it work on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, or Windows 2000.

  1. Install The WORD on Finances per the instructions on the CD.
  2. Left-click on Start
  3. Left-click on Programs
  4. Left-click on PC Study Bible 3.0
  5. Right-click on The Word on Finance
  6. Left-click on Properties
  7. The Properties dialog opens to the Shortcut tab
  8. Assuming that you let The WORD on Finances install where it wanted to, change the Target field to show the following:
    C:\Program Files\Biblesoft\PC Study Bible 3.0\BibleView\BibleView.exe
  9. Left-click OK.
  10. Now, Start > Programs > PC Study Bible 3.0 > The Word on Finance will run the program.

Solution 2 - How to make it work on Windows XP

Unfortunately, The WORD on Finances software on the CD is not compatible with Windows XP.

In a nutshell, you need to install version 4 of PC Study Bible on top of The WORD on Finances in order to gain access to the material.  Here are the detailed instructions:

  1. Install The WORD on Finances per the instructions on the CD.
  2. Purchase ($US 9.95) the Basic Edition of PC Study Bible 4 (or a larger Reference Library) by clicking here.  If you already have a PC Study Bible 4 Reference Library CD, you can use that CD in Step 3, instead of the Basic Edition.  If you would like to buy a PC Study Bible 4 Reference Library CD you can also call Biblesoft Customer Service, toll-free, at 866-722-4253.
  3. Install the Basic Edition or your PC Study Bible Reference Library CD,
letting it install where it wants to, i.e. to the default install location of The WORD on Finances:
    C:\Program Files\Biblesoft\PC Study Bible 3.0
Yes, you do want to install your PC Study Bible 4 into this folder marked 3.0
  4. After the install, you'll notice two ways to open PC Study Bible:
-- There is a PC Study Bible 4 shortcut on your desktop.
-- Start > Programs > PC Study Bible 3.0 has been replaced by Start > Programs > PC Study Bible 4.
  5. Open (launch, run) PC Study Bible using either of these options.
  6. The material from The WORD on Finances appears in the following areas:
-- Click on Books > General Books > The Best of Larry Burkett > The Word on Finances to access the material.
-- Topics > Christian Financial Concepts Definitions
-- Bibles > New American Standard Updated
  7. If you installed the Basic Edition (instead of a larger Reference Library), you'll also see the following options, but they don't provide useful information.
-- Greek/Hebrew > By Verse > Interlinear Bible Old Testament
-- Greek/Hebrew > By Verse > Interlinear Bible New Testament
-- The Media button is disabled.  (In larger libraries, this holds music, maps, and photos.)
The id number of this entry is 234.
