User Testimonials

"Just a word to praise your efforts on the new version 5.

It is a tremendous improvement over previous versions, especially in regard to language use.

I have three other bible software programs which I use, yours is head and shoulders above the others.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!"

Release Notes for Todays New International Version (TNIV)

Release Notes for the add-on CD: Today's New International Version (TNIV 4.2F  SBB00353TODAYSNE0605).

  • On some systems, PC Study Bible will freeze the first time you try to launch it after installing this add-on.  If that happens, use Ctl-Alt-Del to "end task" on PC Study Bible.  Once PC Study Bible is closed, you can launch it again and it will work fine.

  • This CD solves the GRAMCORD parsing issue described by KB699

  • This CD adds Tutorial information by linking Help > Tutorial to downloads on the Biblesoft web site.

  • Caution: The first time you run PC Study Bible after installing this add-on, do not run Options > Setup Helper.  It will fail and cause PC Study Bible to freeze.  However, if you avoid Options > Setup Helper and close PC Study Bible normally after the first run, then run PC Study Bible again, Options > Setup Helper will work fine from then on.

  • This CD fixes the problem at Acts 28:15 where the English words were not aligned with the correct Greek words in the Interlinear New Testament.

  • How does this translation (TNIV) relate to the New International Version (NIV)?  In PC Study Bible, these are two separate translations, i.e. installing one does not replace the other.  However, in the preface ("A Word to the Reader") to the TNIV, it says "Today’s New International Version (TNIV) is a revision of the New International Version (NIV)."

  • {obscure technical note} - The Title of this article is missing an apostrophe because apostrophes are not permitted in the Title field.  The real title of the add-on is:  Today's New International Version.

  • Unfortunately, if you are in the United Kingdom or Europe, and therefore have the New International Version (NIV) (Anglicized) installed, installing this CD will change your NIV to the non-Anglicized.  Contact Technical Support for the solution.

  • When this add-on is installed from CD over the PC Study Bible Basic Edition 4.2B, you gain the following features.   By itself, the Basic Edition does not contain these features.

  • Englishman's Concordance appears under Greek/Hebrew > By Strong's Number.

  • Strong's Greek/Hebrew Dictionary (by verse) appears under Greek/Hebrew > By Verse.  However, when you double-click on any Strong's number in it, you'll see a message that there is no definition.  This is the correct result because the Basic Edition does not include Strong's definitions.

  • Interlinear Bible - Old Testament appears under Greek/Hebrew > By Verse.  However, when you double-click on any Strong's number in it, you'll see a message that there is no definition.  This is the correct result because the Basic Edition does not include Strong's definitions.

  • Interlinear Bible - New Testament appears under Greek/Hebrew > By Verse.  However, when you double-click on any Strong's number in it, you'll see a message that there is no definition.  This is the correct result because the Basic Edition does not include Strong's definitions.

  • Morning and Evening appears under Books > General Books > Works of Charles Spurgeon.

  • Biblesoft Hymnal appears under Media > Music.
  • The id number of this entry is 227.
