User Testimonials

"Just a word to praise your efforts on the new version 5.

It is a tremendous improvement over previous versions, especially in regard to language use.

I have three other bible software programs which I use, yours is head and shoulders above the others.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!"

The explanation of a GRAMCORD parsing code is incomplete

This problem applies only to the Advanced Reference Library and only for versions 4.2C through 4.2F inclusive.  The problem is solved in version 4.2G and later, or by any add-on CD which says 4.2F-2 to the left of the hole on the CD.

Solution

Download the upgrade to version 4.2G for free from our website, using this link.

If that link doesn't work for you, here are the instructions to get there:
Go to www.Biblesoft.com
Click on Technical Support at the top of the page.
Click on Downloads at the left of the resulting page.
Choose PC Study Bible Program Updates
Click on Version 4.2G Program Update.
Follow the instructions on the page.

Old Solution

You may download this patch on top of your current PC Study Bible (version 4.2D or later).  PC Study Bible should be closed before you install the patch.   This problem is also fixed by any add-on CD which says 4.2F-2 to the left of the hole on the CD.

Example of the problem

  1. Open PC Study Bible

  2. Click on Greek/Hebrew > By Verse > Interlinear Bible - New Testament

  3. Enter  "John 3:16" as the Bible Reference

  4. Click OK

  5. Interlinear Bible opens to John 3:16.

  6. Double-click on V__PAPMSN, which is the GRAMCORD parsing for "believeth".

  7. The problem is that the resulting window says only Verb.  The explanation for the codes after the underscores is missing.

  8. Until you install a version which fixes this problem, the workaround is to look up the rest of the codes by hand.  We apologize for this inconvenience and we will make the fix available for free.

  9. Use the following list to look up the codes by hand.  Only Verb Participles, Verb Infinitives, and Personal Pronouns contain underscores, so only their codes are listed below.  This is not a complete list of the GRAMCORD codes for Verbs and Pronouns.

For Verb Participles, the pattern is V __ <Tense> <Voice> <Mood> <Gender> <Number> <Case>
For Verb Infinitives, the pattern is V __ <Tense> <Voice> <Mood>
For Personal Pronouns, the pattern is OP1 _ <Number> <Case>  -or- OP2 _ <Number> <Case>

Verb - V
Tense -  P present,  I imperfect,  F future,  A aorist,  R perfect,  L pluperfect
Voice -  A active,  M middle,  P passive
Mood -  I indicative,  S subjunctive,  O optative,  M imperative,  N infinitive,  P participle
Gender -  M masculine,  F feminine,  N neuter
Number -  S singular,  P plural
Case -  N nominative,  G genitive,  D dative,  A accusative,  V vocative

For example, the participle code V__PPPMSN stands for verb,  present, passive, participle, masculine, singular, nominative

For example, the infinitive code V__AAN stands for verb, aorist, active, infinitive.

Pronoun - O
Class -   P1 personal first person,  P2 personal second person
Number -  S singular,  P plural
Case -  N nominative,  G genitive,  D dative,  A accusative,  V vocative

For example, the pronoun code OP2_SN means pronoun, personal second person, singular, nominative.

The id number of this entry is 209.
