If you are running Version 4.3C (or later, including Version 5)...
- If you have Windows Vista, you need to turn off (and leave off) User Account Control. See KB957.
- Click on Start > Programs > PC Study Bible 4 (or 5) > Reset To Factory Defaults
- Follow any instructions you see on the screen.
- Start PC Study Bible (it may say that it wasn't shut down properly last time; that's ok)
- The program will act as if you are opening it for the first time. For example, you'll have the opportunity to set your Bible preferences again. (This Reset to Factory Defaults is a new option, starting in version 4.2D. Feel free to use it whenever you get an error message from PC Study Bible. It does no harm.)
- Open Word.
- Create a new Word document.
- To fetch a scripture from PC Study Bible into Word...
- In Word, type the scripture you would like pasted, e.g. John 3:16
- Leave the cursor blinking to the right of the "6"
- Then click the macro button (often it looks like a Bible). This should fetch your scripture directly from PC Study Bible into Word (without giving a 429 error).
