What do I do if I get an error message about PCSBV3PA or License Error: 21,1?

This error message appears in different forms:

  • PCSBV3PA - License error: 21,1
  • PCSBV3PA - This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.  If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
  • PCSBV3PA.exe - Application Error (This might be followed by Runtime Error 216.  The Runtime Error 216 might minimize itself, so click on it to bring it up.)
  • This error message can appear under various conditions.  Sometimes you can ignore the message and sometimes it indicates a problem.  The message may appear twice.

    Start by assuming that this particular message is harmless.  For example, you can ignore the message (just click OK) if you are installing the Registration Bonus (REG-4.1A) CD after any of the following CDs:
    -- Advanced Reference Library 4.2B
    -- Complete Reference Library 4.2B
    -- Reference Library Plus 4.2B
    -- New Reference Library 4.2B
    -- Discovery Reference Library 4.2B

    Likewise, you can ignore the message (just click OK) if you are installing the Theological Dictionary of the New Testament (TDNTFA 4.1B-2) CD after any of the following CDs:
    -- Advanced Reference Library 4.2B
    -- Complete Reference Library 4.2B
    -- Reference Library Plus 4.2B
    -- New Reference Library 4.2B

    Likewise, you can ignore the message (just click OK) if you are installing the Dictionary of Jesus and the Gospels, Dictionary of Paul and His Letters, Dictionary of the Later NT and Its Developments (IVP3D 4.1A-2) CD after any of the following CDs:
